Matching our Chetna Farmer hosts, we got up at 5:00 a.m. to avoid the heat. It was going to be 118 degrees that day (no kidding!).
As we headed to the field, we saw the workers engaged intensely. Thankfully, they are working in fields free of pesticides and other nasty chemicals.
They look on intently, working to tend to the cotton. It wasn’t quite picking time yet.
Oxen are plowing the field next door.
It is like a picture from a book.
I was tired even before the clock rolled around to 10:00 a.m. I am in awe of the farmers and so glad to be supporting them.
But they seemed contented with the life they had made for themselves, especially now that it was so much more sustainable. Together, they had done so much more.
Signing off for today, Michael
